About this Blog

This blog is a mainly photographic celebration of the trees in Johannesburg, South Africa.

So what's the big deal?

Johannesburg, commonly referred to as The 'City of Gold', is the largest city in the world not built on or near a major body of water - a major river, lake or coastline. That alone makes it a phenomenon onto itself.

Johannesburg also boasts the largest* man made forest in the world! It has developed into the city it is today, the financial capital of South Africa, from the gold rush days of the 1800s.

I will be posting images of suburban Johannesburg and welcome readers to submit images for posting to kvn411@gmail.com.
